Role Modeling

Learning how to drive, getting your permit and getting your license is one of the biggest steps a child takes during their life and one of the most scary/exciting times for a parent. Driving is the biggest privilege your child will ever have.  A parent or guardian needs to remember that they are the boss and driving is a privilege not a right. A parent needs to hold their child to the highest level of accountability while driving for their safety and the safety of others. Any abuse of the driving privilege should be an automatic loss of driving until the student driver can prove they are responsible enough to drive again. Many parents make contracts with their son or daughter related to driving.

On the other hand the parent is usually the biggest role model their child has.  Kids will tend to have the same driving tendencies their parents have, so please be a good role model for your son or daughter.
