Distracted driving is highly recognized as a major cause of accidents among drivers young and old.  Crashes from distracted driving can be prevented.  Driving is a hard enough skill for anyone without any distractions.  Once you start talking on a phone while driving or trying to eat lunch while driving it will greatly increase your chances of getting into a crash.  Here is a list, but not limited to common tasks that can distract a driver

  • talking on the phone and text messaging
  • distractions from other passengers
  • changing channels on the radio, turning up the volume or changing CD’s
  • putting on make up
  • reading
  • communicating with other drivers
  • eating
  • smoking
